Adobe Affiliate Program: A Good Source of Sustainable Income

When it comes to creating astounding visuals, there are only a few companies that are as enabling as Adobe. While it is known for many other things, including providing access to Portable Document Formats, Adobe is the dream software for visual creatives.

It allows for the manipulation of pictures, whether still or in motion. The result, if the software is used right, often leaves people awed.

That is one of the major reasons it is widely popular in the world today. However, beyond just providing excellent services and applications, it goes a bit further and proves itself to be a great company.

How? Adobe has one of the best affiliate marketing programs in the software industry.

With their program, bloggers and web content creators within that niche can make a decent amount of money.

In this article, we will be exploring the Adobe affiliate program and exposing you to all the necessary information.

About Adobe

adobe affiliate program review

Considering that you’re a potential Adobe partner, it’s only logical that you know a bit about the company. So, before we dive into this Adobe affiliate program review, here is a brief “did you know?” of Adobe Inc.

Adobe Inc. came into existence fully in three phases. The first was in the last month of 1982. That was the year John Warnock and Charles Geschke initially founded it.

The second was in 1983 when it was incorporated in California. The third and final part was its reincorporation in the fifth month of 1997, in Delaware.

Bet you didn’t know that right? You’re welcome?!

What Is the Adobe Affiliate Program, and What Does it Entail?

Adobe Affiliate Marketing

As our title suggests, the Adobe affiliate program provides a means of making a sustainable income. Like every other form of affiliate marketing, it works by allowing internet-savvy content creators to use their websites to promote the company’s products.

In return, they give you a commission which is a percentage of total profit from the sale(s) you made for them. Like most other affiliate marketing programs, the first prerequisite for joining is owning a personal blog/website.

If you don’t have one, you can build it yourself by following this guide or get a domain name and hosting from a top-notch hosting platform like Bluehost and have a freelancer build it for you.

Disclosure: I’m an affiliate and earn a commission from Bluehost if you make a purchase through my link. Thank you.

The Arvato Bertelsmann/Adobe partnership is the team that is responsible for managing the affiliate program. TradeDoubler handles the technical aspect of it.

What Can You Promote as an Adobe Affiliate Marketer?

The company’s affiliate marketing program allows you to promote one of three major services.

1. Adobe Creative Cloud

Its tools and services are extremely useful. Your target audience while promoting this will include photographers/photo editors, web designers, video editors, etc.

The service requires a monthly or annual subscription to Photoshop, Lightroom, and Dreamweaver, among others. Some focus solely on promoting the Adobe Photoshop affiliate program. However, there’s really nothing that stops you from dabbling into more than one.

2. Adobe Document cloud

Apart from the above, Adobe’s document cloud is another thing you can focus your marketing efforts on. It helps to make businesses a lot faster by turning paper-based processes entirely digital.

As such, a large majority of your target audience would be business people. Alongside those are students who might be dealing with paper-based processes daily.

3. Adobe Stock Images

It provides high-quality images for use. Keep in mind that you won’t be promoting images directly. Rather, you would be promoting a subscription to the platform. With the market for good digital photos constantly growing, this is a goldmine.

Adobe Referral Period

The company’s referral period lasts for 30 days. That is, any potential customer who clicks on your affiliate link or banner will have a period of thirty days to make the purchase.

If they do, you’ll get your commission. Otherwise, you won’t. This is the same as the Microsoft affiliate program but light years better than the Amazon affiliate programThe former offers 30 days, and the latter, only 24 hours.

How Does Adobe Pay its Affiliates?

The commission structure of the Adobe affiliate program varies because they offer different products. Regardless, they are all quite attractive.

We’ll start with cloud affiliate programs – Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Document Cloud. For these two, the commission rates are:

  • 85% of a subscription fee that lasts one month.
  • 85% of an annual subscription fee that users choose to pay every month.
  • 33% of an annual fee paid at once.

The Adobe affiliate program commission rates for Adobe Stock are:

  • 72 USD for monthly plans.
  • 72 USD for annual plans paid monthly.
  • 33% of a one-time purchase.
  • 85% of a monthly subscription fee for three assets a month.

It is worthy of note that Adobe Stock and Adobe Document Cloud affiliate programs are only accessible in select countries. Additionally, any order that is considered a trial or is invalid/fraudulent will get no commission.

Finally, the percentages in the commission rates are for the profits, not the entire sale.

How to Join the Adobe Affiliates Program

After seeing the commission rates, you are probably wondering how to become an Adobe partner.

The steps involved are actually quite simple. For your convenience, we have outlined them below:

Step One

Adobe affiliate program sign up

Visit their affiliate program page. Here, you’ll see the necessary information for all affiliate marketers. At the bottom of the page, there is a blue button that says, “Apply now.” Click on that.

Step Two

microsoft affiliate program

When you click on the “apply now” button from step one, you’ll be redirected to TradeDoubler. This is the affiliate network that is in charge of helping you promote Adobe’s services.

When you get to the page, you’ll be required to input some background information. The top three are your country, your language, and business type.

The business type gives you options of individual, organization, or company. After that, you’ll have to fill up the other field. Among others, they include your company name, first and last name, email address, username, website, password, etc.

If you already have a TradeDoubler account, the fact that you shouldn’t worry about this step goes without saying.

Step Three

After filling everything out, click on “Create account” on TradeDoubler. Afterward, you’ll get a welcome email. From that point on, simply follow the prompts. In no time, you’ll be an Adobe partner.

Activating Your Adobe Affiliate Account

After you receive the mail, the next step is to activate your account for the Adobe affiliate program.

As already stated, all you need to do is open the link and follow the prompts.

However, here’s the thing. You’ll have to do this within 15 minutes after receiving the link. Otherwise, you would have failed to get your account active. Worse, you will have to start the process again.

So, don’t forget. I recommend that you activate your account immediately after your Adobe affiliate sign-up.

How to Verify Your Website

Now that your account is all activated, you’ll need to verify your site. As I already stated earlier, you’ll need a website for the Adobe affiliate program. Well, this is where it becomes instrumental.

For you to verify your account, you’ll need to sign in. As already stated, you’ll be doing all this on TradeDoubler. So, log in to your dashboard on TradeDoubler to verify your account.

Now, once you log in, navigate to the Verify Site area. You should see a large blue banner around the upper part of your page. That’s where you find this tab.

So, click on it to get started. However, you should know that you’ll need to add some new details. And this is precisely your contact information. So, input the necessary details and click Save to get going.

Note, you’ll need to enter the following information at this stage.

  • Reporting currency: which states the currency you prefer should be associated with your account
  • Address: which details your country, city, street address, and postal code, among others
  • Market: which describes what physical area your offering as an affiliate will focus on or where you have a concentrated audience population
  • Mobile number

Once you finish this, you can go back to your affiliate dashboard by clicking the Home tab. You’ll then navigate to the Click Here area by the large blue banner I mentioned earlier.

You should see the list of sites associated with your Adobe affiliate account.

Usually, at this stage, you’ll have just one website listed here. You’ll also see the Not Verified text attached to your site.

Now, what you need to do is click the verification link beside your site’s URL. However, this is where it gets serious.

You’ll see some instructions telling you how to verify your account as an Adobe affiliate. Typically, it usually involves two ways, and you can choose either one depending on your preference.

So, are you wondering how? Don’t worry; I’ll break it down below.

Option 1: Include a Meta Tag to your homepage code

This option is quite straightforward. All you need to do is add a meta tag to your site’s homepage code.

Don’t worry; you won’t have issues getting the Meta Code. All you need to do is copy it from your affiliate dashboard. For ease, here’s what you need to do.

Step 1: Copy the meta-tag located in your TradeDoubler account

Step 2: Go to blogger

Step 3: Navigate to the theme tab and select Edit HTML

Step 4: At this point, paste the meta tag you copied in Step 1 under the Head area of your site’s HTML code

Step 5: Save

Step 6: Navigate back to TradeDoubler, where you saw the Not Verified text in your account. Then, select the Click Here tab to complete the verification.

After this, your Adobe affiliate site should get verified in seconds, and you’ll be good to go.

Option 2: Include file to your web server’s root

If you’re not comfortable with the first method, or it doesn’t work out, you can try this second method. It’s also quite straightforward. All you’ll need to do is add a file to your server’s root.

For ease, here’s how to do this.

Step 1: You’ll need to create a blank file and then name it like this: number. Html. For instance, you could do 312344.html

Step 2: Save the file you just created in your webserver’s root. For example, it would take this form https://www.yoursite.com/312344.html

Step 3: Access your hosting through your web server or FTP

Step 4: Navigate back to TradeDoubler, where you saw the Not Verified text in your account. Then, select the Click Here tab to complete the verification.

Once you do this, your Adobe affiliate site should get verified for sure. However, if this doesn’t work out, you could verify it manually.

How to Verify Your Site Manually

Although this is quite lengthy, it’s usually the last resort if the other verification methods above don’t work out. For you to verify manually, you’ll need to reach out to the Adobe team.

Just get across to the support form through [email protected]. You’ll then need to fill in your affiliate email, and the subject of the mail, and select a category (both entries will be Site Verification)You’ll also enter your site ID, URL, and your name before hitting Send.

After this, you should get a response from TradeDoubler within 24 hours. This will contain a video of how to go about the manual verification.

You should know that the video is quite outdated. However, it can still help do the trick. For ease, here’s how to do this.

Step 1: Copy your verification code from the first option above

Step 2: Go to your website’s HTML code

Step 3: Enter the code below or into any block of test

Step 4: Cut the comments out of the code you pasted

Step 5: Send a screenshot to the Adobe team. This will include your website link and your site with the verification code. Typically, you’ll have to wait almost two days before the verification is complete. However, so you know, you’ll receive a mail confirming it and a free PDF guide containing useful info.

Setting up Your Adobe Affiliate Account to Receive Payment

Next, you need to set your account up so you can get paid. Unless, of course, you plan to work for free.

To do this, you’ll need to update your contact info and payment info to the Publisher Account Settings.

Contact information

At this point, all you’ll need to do is navigate to Account and fill in all necessary info. This will include your username, first and last name, and email, among others.

Also, ensure you register for the relevant newsletter and program emails. Ensure you activate your email notification if you intend to receive updates.

Payment information

Now, this is how you earn from the Adobe affiliate program. All you need to do is navigate to Account then payment information.

You’ll find two payment options that you can pick from. Pick the one that you prefer. So, you don’t get caught unawares, the available options are:

  • Direct bank transfer
  • Payoneer payment service

In case you want a new payment option after picking, it’s not exactly a problem. You can always contact the Adobe team for that.

After selecting a method, you’ll need to fill in certain information. This info includes business type, the country the location of your bank, where you pay tax, and your payment provider.

Once you fill in this info, you’re good to go, and you can receive payment.

Using Banners

When you complete your Adobe affiliate sign-up, you get access to various promotional tools. One of them is the banner. It’s available on your account, and you can integrate them into multiple sites.

For your ease, here’s how to integrate a banner into your website.

Step 1: Navigate to My Ads under the Tracking tab

Step 2: Pick the relevant program under the Program name tab. You’ll see a list of banners in GIF and JPG that you can choose from.

Step 3: Select a banner and tap the Show Code bar. A window should pop up, copy the HTML code, and paste it into your site.

Step 4: Tick the following boxes

  • JavaScript
  • Custom
  • Cache Prevention

After this, the ad should appear on the site. However, it might sometimes need a 15-minute waiting period.

Should You Join the Adobe Affiliate Marketing Program?

In the sincerest sense of it, the decision is largely up to you. Indeed, the commission rates are quite attractive, and it seems good enough.

However, if you don’t have the amount of traffic and high enough conversion rates, you might find yourself quickly frustrated.

The same applies to virtually every other affiliate marketing program out there.

With good conversion rates being around 5%, you need to work hard enough to get around $1000 dollars a month.

This, however, depends on the pricing of the product you are promoting.

Regardless, though, if you cannot put in the required amount of work, you won’t get much out of the program.

Benefits of Becoming an Adobe Affiliate

If you do choose to join, there are a few things you can gain besides the money alone.

  1. You will be getting product reports every day to aid your learning and help you increase your marketing capabilities.
  2. As a publisher, a few promotions and discounts will come your way occasionally.
  3. You’ll get timely information about new products and releases.
  4. You’ll have high-quality banners and text. These will be very helpful in promoting the products and encouraging your audience to buy.
