How to Post YouTube Link on Instagram
If you wish to drive traffic from Instagram to YouTube in order to get more views and subscribers to your channel, you need to learn how to post YouTube links on Instagram.
Your Instagram bio is the surest place to add a clickable YouTube link or a link to any other website on Instagram.
But unfortunately, Instagram limits you to one bio link per account.
Today, we will discuss the 5 most effective ways to post a YouTube link on Instagram and also how to escape the one bio link limitation and post several other important links at a time through your bio.
There are 5 major ways you can post links on Instagram. I will list them and go over the steps on how to share YouTube links on IG using each method.
1. Instagram bio
2. Instagram post
3. Direct message
4. Instagram story
5. Instagram TV (IGTV)
This will be done using the Instagram app but the process is similar when you are doing it through the website.
Step 1: Open your Instagram app and click the profile image icon at the bottom right corner.
Step 2: Click on edit profile
Step 3: Search for the column that says “Website”.
Step 4: Click on the website column, copy your YouTube channel link or the YouTube video URL you want to post on Instagram, and paste it there.
Step 5: Click done.
With Instagram stories, you can only create a Clickable link for your YouTube channel or video if you have over 10,000 followers or a verified Instagram account.
If you don’t have up to 10,000 followers, you can use an Instagram growth service like Stellation Media to help you grow the number of engaged Instagram followers on your page.
Step 1: Take a picture or add one to your Instagram Story, then press the link icon at the top right corner.
Step 2: To add your YouTube link, press “+ URL”.
Step 3: Enter the URL into the text window. When you’re finished, click “Done” in the top right corner.
Step 4: When you’re about to post, press the “+ Story” button at the bottom right of your Story. Your published Story now has a “See More” swipe-up link.
Instagram doesn’t allow you to add a clickable link to your posts, you can certainly add a link to them if you want to but the links will appear in text form and won’t be clickable.
A good approach is to shorten your YouTube link using an Instagram link shortener like Shorby and encourage your followers to copy and paste the link on their browser.
With an Instagram URL shortener, you can customize your link which makes it easy for your followers to remember and they can even type it out themselves.
Step 1: Click on your Instagram profile icon.
Step 2: Select the post you want to add a link to.
Step 3: Copy the YouTube link and paste it on the post.
This is pretty much a manual way to share your link but it’s a very effective way because with direct messaging you are having a personal conversation with your Instagram followers and they are more likely to do what you ask of them this way. More so, links shared using this method are clickable links.
Step 1: Open Instagram and click on the message icon.
Step 2: Search for the people you want to send a direct message to.
Step 3: Select one of them at a time, click on the message box, and type your message. Here’s where you can share your Instagram link through direct messaging.
With Instagram TV, you can share a clickable URL on Instagram by including the link in the description of your IGTV video.
Step 1: Create an IGTV video and include your Instagram link in the description of the video.
Step 2: Post your IGTV video.
Step 3: Mention your YouTube link in your IGTV video description and encourage your viewers to click on it.
Apart from your YouTube link, there are several other links you may want to share on Instagram. This could be links to other social media accounts, landing pages, blogs, websites, some specific pages within your site e.t.c.
The best way to promote these links is to use an Instagram bio app that allows you to create a micro landing page where you can insert all your links and use the link to that page as your bio link.
Doing it this way means you have successfully maximized the potentials of your Instagram bio and escaped the one bio link limitation imposed by Instagram.
With this tool, you can create messenger app links through which you can automate your chat with potential clients on Instagram. You can test this tool out free by clicking HERE.
And you can read my Shorby review HERE to find out how to make use of its features.
